GIS Services

Knight & Leavitt Associates uses innovative GIS technology to plot biological data, manage cultural sites, and produce simulations of proposed projects.  GIS technology cuts costs, makes surveys more efficient and allows for the understanding and management of complex resource issues.

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SERVICES (GIS)

  • GIS Mapping and Plotting of Resource Data, Importation of Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and Engineering Files
  • Data Collection using Data Logging handheld GPS units (decimeter accuracy/differentially corrected)
  • Custom Visual/Photo Simulations for Project Review

Our GIS services include on-call mapping, data collection, and data research to our clients.  Our GIS laboratory includes multiple GIS workstations and a flexible staff that helps to ensure that workloads can be scaled to suit the needs of the project.

Our GIS department uses time-tested and cutting-edge data collection techniques to efficiently capture data in the field.  Currently we use high accuracy Trimble GeoXH data loggers with the ability to customize data dictionaries to ensure data standardization to reduce data cleaning time.

We offer services to analyze proposed Right-Of-Ways and project disturbance areas for other proposed projects.  We have used this service in the past for Environmental Assessment (EA) preparation and creating the supporting maps for those documents.

In addition to the standard GIS services, our team also uses state of the art technologies to create photographic simulations of projects for Visual Impact Assessments and posters for informational displays.
